Sentinel Deposit Remover is a powerful, highly active cleaning agent for use in indirect central heating systems. It is specifically designed to remove objectionable iron oxide deposits and limescale from heat exchangers, radiators and pipework. Its unique composition allows Sentinel Deposit Remover to act as a complexing and penetrating dispersant under less acidic conditions than other acid based products.
Sentinel Deposit Remover is suitable for use with all commonly encountered metals and alloys. Aluminium may be cleaned, but special precautions must be taken with a maximum cleaning time of 2 hours.
Potable water systems may be cleaned, but must be flushed thoroughly before being returned to service.
Dosage:
A single 5L container of Sentinel Deposit Remover is sufficient to clean a typical domestic system up to 10 radiators. For larger systems, two 5L containers should be used. For faster cleaning, or with heavily fouled equipment, a typical system should also be cleaned with two 5L containers. The main system pump is suitable for circulation throughout the entire system.
Cleaning action is accelerated when the Sentinel Deposit Remover solution is heated and in constant circulation, but the temperature must not exceed 60°C.
In accordance with BS7593:2006, more rapid and effective cleaning will result if Sentinel Deposit Remover is used in conjunction with a power flushing device.
After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear, and the pH or conductivity of the flush water matches that of the mains water. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor, or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze.
Feeding:
Open Systems: Dose via F&E cistern, via a by-pass feeder or use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel.
Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.
